A 79-year-old musician had an accident during a sound check and his performance was cancelled about 1 hour before it started
Arthur Verocai79-year-old conductor and pianist who would be one of the attractions of the Koala Festival suffered a fall during the sound check of the event and his show was canceled this Saturday, 7. The accident occurred backstage at the Simon Bolívar Auditorium, of the Memorial da América Latina, in São Paulo, where the event is held.
A statement on Coala’s social media announced around 4:45 p.m. that the presentation, scheduled for 5:45 p.m., had been canceled.
Verocai, known for his work at festivals and revered by Brazilian and foreign musicians, would perform accompanied by an orchestra and introduce rapper Mano Brown.
According to the Coala Festival organization, Verocai was immediately rescued and taken to the hospital. There is no further information on the musician’s health status yet.
