The song uses a sample of “Spring Love”, released by Stevie B in the 80s.
Following the world premiere of “Paradise” at the VMAs, singer Anitta has released the music video for her collaboration with Fat Joe and DJ Khaled this Thursday (9/12). The song uses a sample of Stevie B’s “Spring Love” with electronic beats that marked the funk melody generation in the 80s.
Poderosa even invited Stevie B to check out his performance at the music awards, which took place at the UBS Arena, in Long Island, USA. The veteran artist had just arrived in Brazil to finalize preparations for the “O Baile dos Sonhos” festival, which will host big names in funk melody, such as Nyasia, Samuel, Noel and others.
“They invited me to New York and I’m really excited to enter this new phase of my career, seeing the success of ‘Spring Love’ being noticed by other great artists. […] This recognition will bring a lot of attention to our style of music. Thank you Fat Joe, Anitta and DJ Khaled”, thanked the King of Freestyle, who took photos backstage with the funk singer.
Historic moment
In a recent interview, Anitta briefly commented on the production of the new song and some fun behind-the-scenes facts: “Fat Joe and DJ Khaled sent me this track, which is like a flashback, and I loved it. They have this Stevie B sample in the song. And it’s funny, because when I was first in the studio auditioning to be a singer, Stevie B was there and then they sent me the song with the sample and I was like, ‘Wow, this is so historic.’ I loved it,” she told Extra TV.
