On the second day of Rock in Rio 2024, Imagine Dragons closed the evening with a memorable performance, and one detail caught the attention of fans: Dan Reynoldsthe band’s singer, showed an X painted on the back of his hands.

The symbol, linked to the straight edge movement, reflects Dan’s decision to avoid the use of drugs and alcohol, something he had already commented on in previous interviews, such as for the magazine Men’s Health in 2019.

In addition to his public stance on the movement, few know that Dan has a strong connection to Brazil. The 37-year-old singer spent part of his childhood in the countryside, when his parents, Mormon missionaries, moved here on a religious mission.

“I grew up with a lot of influence from Brazilian culture. My father would buy guaraná and take us to steakhouses.”Dan told the newspaper O Globo in May this year.

His admiration for Brazil is remarkable and he often expresses his affection for the country, stating that the energy of the Brazilian public is something special to him.

THE imagine Dragons suffered a significant casualty: the drummer Daniele Platzmann announced his departure from the band. The news was shared by Daniel himself through social media.

Platzman, who joined the imagine Dragons in 2011 he expressed his gratitude for the journey of more than a decade alongside the band. “After an incredible journey spanning over a decade, I will be leaving the incredible band Imagine Dragons. I want to express my deepest gratitude to you, the fans, for your unwavering support and for sharing the joy of music with me.”wrote the drummer.

The reason for his departure, according to Daniel, is related to new personal projects. “I’m excited to soon be able to share more about the projects I’ve been working hard on over the past few months, focusing on my greatest passion: scoring and composing.”he revealed.

Despite the surprise, Platzman’s departure appears to have been amicable. In the comments to the post, he received messages of support from his bandmates, including his bassist and keyboardist.
