Anitta competes in the Recording of the Year category and Xande de Pilares competes for the Album of the Year award with the release ‘Xande canta Caetano’; the awards ceremony will take place on November 14

THE Latin Recording Academy announced, on Tuesday 17th, the candidates for the Latin Grammysan awards ceremony that will take place on November 14 in Miami. Anita is in the running for the Record of the Year award, with the song A thousand timesfrom the album Funky Generationwho did not compete for Album of the Year. In this category, the only Brazilian to compete is Xandé of Pilareswith its launch Xande sings Caetano.

Competing for the Record of the Year award alongside Anitta is Bad Bunny Monk; Karol G with My ex was right; Kali Uchis and Featherweight, with Just like an angel; Camilo and Carin León, with A past life; Cimafunk & Monsieur Perine´, with Catalina; Jorge Drexler and yours Turn it upside down; Fonseca & Niche Group, with With money and without money; Juan Luis Guerra 4.40, with the disc Mambo23; and Mon Laferte, with Tenochtitlan.

The Brazilian singer took home the VMA astronauthappened last Wednesday, 11. A thousand times competed and won in the category Best Latin Clip.

Xande de Pilares also faces other big Latin names in the Album of the Year category. Shakira is competing with her The women are no longer Loran. Also competing is the singer Karol G, with the album Man~ana will be beautiful (Bichota Season).

The Brazilians also entered the Best New Artist category: Bahiani Caca Magalhaes and the Rio trio The Garotini. Tiago Iorc participated in the competition for the award for the best song of the singer and composer with the song Before the world ends.

In the category Best Instrumental Album, Yamandu Costa and Armandinho Macêdo appear with the album Meeting of the Waters and Hamilton de Holanda and C4 Trio occur in conjunction with the launch Tembla. In the Best Latin Jazz Album category, three other Brazilians appear in competition: Collabby Hamilton de Holanda and Gonzalo Rubalcaba, My heart speaksby Ivan Lins, and For you, Ilzaby Hermeto Pascoal & Grupo.

This year, the Latin Grammys included a new area (Electronic Music) and two categories (Best Latin Electronic Music Performance and Best Contemporary Mexican Music Album).
