The heirs have presented an agreement to the Court of São Paulo in which they undertake to divide the assets and debts included in the inventory
Gabriel Costa and Wilma Petrillo, son and widow of Gal Coastwho died in 2022 due to a heart attack, has reached an agreement regarding the dispute over the inheritance left by the singer. The information was confirmed to State by Vanessa Bispo, Wilma’s attorney.
Under the agreement presented to the Court of São Paulo, both will share the assets and debts remaining in inventory as well as royalties from musical performances until the proposal is approved.
In August 2023, Wilma was named inventor of the assets left by Gal and publicly Gabriel treated her like a godmother.
The legal dispute began with the singer’s son he contested the inheritance rights of his mother’s former managerand even asked for the body to be exhumed. At the time, the young man stated that Wilma and her mother had no relationship and therefore she would not be entitled to 50% of the estate.
The two became close in the early 90s and, recently, Wilma has achieved recognition as a stable union. When the singer died, they were living together in a house in the Jardim América neighborhood of São Paulo.
