Reports indicate that violence inside the prison is frequent, with stabbings occurring multiple times a week. According to one inmate, Eli, the situation is so chaotic that the prison has stopped accepting new inmates, taking in only suspects awaiting trial or indictment. The Department of Justice has not conducted an official inspection of the site since 2020.

Sean Combs was arrested on September 16 and is being investigated by the Southern District Court of New York. The charges against him include an allegation of rape and abuse by his ex-girlfriend, Cassie, and a recent accusation by a man who claims Combs abused and drugged him at a party. Combs is seeking $100 million in damages.

Combs’s lawyers sought a writ of habeas corpus so he could be tried for free, but the request was denied by a judge. Prosecutors argued that Combs was a danger to society and asked that he be kept in prison. The case continues to unfold, with Combs’s time in prison reflecting the harsh conditions he faces while awaiting trial.
