The album “143” marks lively new collaborations for the North American singer
Katy Perry took advantage of her visit to Brazil to promote her latest album, entitled “143”. The launch took place this Friday morning (20/9), hours before the singer took to the main stage at Rock in Rio.
This is the American singer’s sixth studio album and comes four years after the acclaimed “Smile” (2020). Despite the mysterious title, Katy Perry has stated that the numbers have an affectionate meaning from their guides. The acronym “143” has become very well known in recent digital language, especially among TikTok users.
“This number means ‘I love you.’ I received this number from my angels, from my guides, as encouragement to keep moving forward, in a very difficult time in my life. A lot was happening in my family. I saw this number and I thought it was very strong,” Katy said, during her appearance on “Estrela da Casa.”
Featuring 11 new tracks, the album “143” mixes upbeat dance-pop songs with lyrics that celebrate love and good vibes. Additionally, the album features epic collaborations with artists like Kim Petras and 21 Savage. The songs are available now on digital platforms.
Rock in Rio
Katy Perry will headline “Dia Delas,” a special Rock in Rio event featuring all-female acts. In addition to her, the day’s lineup features performances by Ivete Sangalo, Cyndi Lauper, Karol G, IZA, and Tyla.
The American singer’s performance will be broadcast live on Multishow and streamed on Globoplay.
