Iranian artist spoke to Rolling Stone Brazil about the passion of Brazilians, which helped with the success of the partnership with Pabllo Vittar
In “New York, New York”, a song from the film of the same name by Martin Scorsese from 1977, which became a hit in the voice of Frank Sinatrathe artist sings that if he is successful in New York, he will be successful anywhere. In the case of Sevdaliza37 years old, success was at a different address: in Brazil.
In June this year, the Iranian artist met with Pabllo Vittar in “Alibi”, without having any idea of the benefits that the partnership would bring to his career: “I didn’t expect that [a repercussão] It would be so powerful, but it makes so much sense. When I performed at Primavera Sound two years ago, I already thought, ‘Wow, this is special.’ The passion that Brazilians have. And they’re known for it. Then I started to understand.”he declared in an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone Brazil.
Sevdaliza — who revealed to us that he had lived in Tijuca, a popular neighborhood in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro, many years before starting out in music — landed once again in Brazil this week for a special appearance on the show Karol G at Rock in Rio, which took place on Friday night (20).
Obsessed with “Alibi” — just like the rest of the world —, the Colombian invited her colleague, Pabllo Vittar and the French singer Yseultwhich completes the successful partnership, to present the hit to the public at the 40th edition of the Brazilian music festival, something for which Sevdaliza was fully prepared to make it happen:
“There are about 100,000 people. I get goosebumps. It’s a dream. I’m really hoping to perform at the next edition of Rock in Rio with my own show. Who knows?”confessed the artist, before the presentation.
It’s the first time that Sevdaliza comes to Brazil after the explosion of “Alibi” and, now, the artist has the opportunity to thank Brazilian fans for the welcome, which helped put the song among the main charts in recent months:
“I think Brazil is one of my favorite countries in the world. And the fans are so kind. They are always supporting us, welcoming us. They always give me a sense of belonging. There are no fans like Brazilian fans.”said the artist.
“And I’m really grateful to have made a song with Pablobecause I believe it is a way of showing gratitude to Brazil. It really means a lot to me”, completed Sevdaliza.
