Mariah Carey performs luxuriously before Rock in Rio and proves she has everything a pop diva needs

On Friday, the singer put aside the title of “misunderstood diva” or “Christmas diva” and performed a show that did justice to her undeniable artistic talent. And, like wine, Mariah proved that she only gets better with age. She started the show by singing Love takes timewearing a red dress and with a vocal technique that gets even better (yes, it’s possible) with time.

Arguably, the highlight on stage was her. With a band and backing singers dressed in black, it was impossible not to look at Mariah and be mesmerized by the famous whistle registers she performs with impressive ease. It even became impossible to hear her highest notes in the famous Emotions amidst the shouts he managed to provoke from the Allianz crowd.

The singer, even in the rain, made a true celebration of herself in a show that lasted 1h30. She divided the presentation into four acts, a passage through all the stages of her career, and used phrases in which she spoke of vulnerable moments in life to introduce the songs. She even arrives at a delicate moment in Brazil: Recently, Mariah said she lost her mother and sister on the same day.

The artist positions herself on stage like a true diva: she smiles, waves and blows kisses to her fans while she sings. She limits her interactions to a few sentences and, like any diva, sometimes makes them wait a bit.

In total, Mariah makes four costume changes during the show. The intervals in which she makes do are filled by the all-male dancers or by the band and choirs who boast the same musical excellence as the singer.

The choice can sometimes seem a bit tiring. At the end of the show, complaints could be heard from those who accused the artist of “not wanting to sing”. But the important thing is that Mariah remained true to herself.

The singer managed to mix more danceable moments, as in Obsessedwith others in which he wanted to demonstrate that he had gogo, as in Hero.
