Arrested two weeks ago, the rapper continues to be charged with rape and threatening to commit crimes
Arrested two weeks ago, Sean “Diddy” Combs is being sued by another victim of sexual assault. According to Variety, a new lawsuit was filed this Tuesday (9/24), indicating that a woman had been violently abused by the rapper and his bodyguard. The case allegedly occurred in 2001, in a recording studio in New York, United States.
In the lawsuit, Thalia Graves said she met Diddy when she was 25, a time when her boyfriend was working at Bad Boy Records. The rapper reportedly asked to meet in person to discuss his position at the company.
One day, they were drinking wine in a vehicle with the rapper and his bodyguard, Joseph Sherman, until he began to feel “dizzy and physically weak.” The victim said he lost consciousness shortly afterward, indicating that the drink was laced with drugs.
The victim said that some time later, she woke up naked with her hands tied behind her back inside Daddy’s Home, a Manhattan studio, where Diddy allegedly violently raped her. In the lawsuit, she also describes Sherman hitting her head on a pool table as she resisted the attacks. The security guard also allegedly sexually assaulted her when she regained consciousness.
Thalia added that she did not press charges because she feared retaliation from Diddy and Sherman, who warned her to stay silent, even threatening to lose custody of her son. In November of last year, she discovered that the sexual assault scenes had been recorded and sold as pornography by the defendant.
Traumatic episode
At a press conference, Thalia couldn’t hold back her tears as she spoke publicly about the effects of the assault alongside her attorney, Gloria Allred. “The internal pain after being sexually assaulted has been incredibly deep and difficult to put into words. It goes beyond the physical damage caused by and during the assault. It’s a pain that goes to the core of who you are and leaves emotional scars that will never fully heal. “Healed,” the victim described.
The woman also said that after the incident she was diagnosed with several mental illnesses: “I suffer from PTSD, depression and anxiety. I am emotionally scarred. It has been difficult for me to trust others, form healthy relationships or even feel safe in my own skin,” Thalia lamented.
“Flashbacks, nightmares and intrusive thoughts make me feel like it’s a constant struggle. I also suffer from physical issues such as chronic pain, sexual discomfort, the violation I suffered during the assault has had lasting effects on my body, causing health problems and ongoing complications,” she said, adding that she is “glad he’s in prison.”
Representatives for Sean “Diddy” Combs have not yet commented on the matter.
