One of the biggest names in world pop in the 2010s, Katy Perry opined how all female artists “need to be thankful” for everything they Madonnasinger of hits like “The Beautiful Island,” “Material Girl” and “Like a Virgin,” did in art.
During an interview with the Australian program The Project (in the country, Perry appears in the final of Australian Football League next Monday, 28th), the artist commented on her friendship with Madonna – and took the opportunity to praise the Queen of Pop.
“Madonna was really nice to me, well it took a minute because she was testing me and then she became super nice to me,” he stated (via NME). “She just does her job Madonna. She would invite me to a party and we would have to do a photo shoot together, which was amazing. She’s the best.”
Right away, Katy Perry recalled the support of Madonna to the hit “Ur So Gay,” released in 2007, on the radio, something that helped “launch” the singer to stardom: “She really highlighted my music and that was really the beginning of my career. That’s what started to break me.”
Finally, Perry commented as “every woman [artista] still need to continue to be grateful” Madonna. “I’m 40 years old and I’m still making music because of her.”
