The French duo brings the “Moon Safari” tour to Brazil, celebrating 25 years of their debut album
French duo Air will bring their celebrated “Moon Safari” album tour to Brazil in 2025, as the first confirmed attraction of the C6 Fest. The event will take place from May 22nd to 25th at Parque Ibirapuera, in Sao Paulo. The news meets the expectations of Brazilian fans, who were waiting for confirmation of the band’s presence after the announcements announced in Argentina and Chile.
History of the tour
Since February, Air has been traveling the world with the tour commemorating the 25th anniversary of the “Moon Safari”. The performance includes the entire album, accompanied by visual projections onto an LED structure resembling a futuristic stage. Acclaimed for its faithfulness to the album’s original sound, the show was broadcast worldwide in April on the DRIIFT platform, during a performance at the historic Royal Albert Hall, London.
Impact and legacy
Released on April 14, 1998, “Moon Safari” revolutionized the electronic music scene, offering a smooth, melodic alternative to the scene dominated by genres like house and techno. Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel’s debut album produced hits such as “Playground Love”, included in the soundtrack of “The Virgin Suicides”, which the duo performed live at the end of the recent Olympic Games in Paris.
Party C6
C6 Fest is a music festival organized in collaboration between C6 Bank and Dueto Produções. Two successful editions have already taken place in Brazil, in 2023 and 2024, when the event hosted performances by several famous names inside and outside the country.
At its debut, the festival saw the performance of the German group Kraftwerk, one of the most important names in electronic music who had already performed in Brazil at the “Free Jazz Festival”, also organized by the producer in 1998. Another highlight is was the presence of the English group Underworld, which became known throughout the world with the song “Born Slippy” (1996), relaunching techno sounds at the national event. For those who don’t know, the song was a hit on the soundtrack of the film “Trainspotting”.
In 2024, the festival dedicated a special tribute to the singer Cassiano (1943-2021), one of the main names of Brazilian soul music, and was characterized by the presence of Pavement, Black Pumas, Paris Texas, Young Fathers and the wonderful Remy ( ex -I XX).
Ticket sales and other attractions for the 2025 festival are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
