A man buys a guitar signed by Taylor Swift and destroys it at auction

The destruction of the collector’s item apparently occurred for divergent political reasons

An American man angered several attendees at the Ellis County Wild Game Dinner, a charity auction that took place recently in Dallas, United States. On that occasion he purchased a guitar autographed by singer Taylor Swift, worth $4,000 (about R$21,000), with the intention of destroying it on the spot. The case began to have repercussions on Monday (30/9).

A viral video shows the veteran amazed at the destruction of the collectible, until he is interrupted by the host of the charity event. In the images you can still see him imitating guitarist Pete Townshend of the Who.

According to information from the site TMZ, the organization of the auction said that the crime was motivated by politics, as Taylor Swift declared support for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, who is running for president of the United States against Republican Donald Trump.

However, the team behind the event said that the instrument was donated before Taylor Swift expressed her political preference on social media. Furthermore, the guitar did not belong to the singer and was donated by a third party, who had a certificate of authenticity above his signature.
