In a message posted on X, Glover explained that after a show in New Orleans, he went to a hospital in Houston to investigate a condition that arose during the tour. “After the evaluation, it became clear that I would not be able to perform that evening’s show, and upon further examination, I saw that I would not be able to continue with the remainder of the US tour on schedule,” the artist explained. he wrote.
Surgery and recovery
Glover also said he is scheduled for surgery and must take his recovery seriously, leading to the decision to cancel performances in North America, the United Kingdom and Europe. “For now I have surgery scheduled and I need time to recover. My road to recovery is something I need to take seriously,” he said.
Glover did not reveal the reason for his hospitalization, nor the details of the planned surgery.
The “New World” tour was part of Glover’s self-proclaimed “last” project under the name Childish Gambino, which includes his most recent album, “Bando Stone and the New World,” an upcoming film of the same name and a reissue of their pandemic-era album “3.15.2020” (renamed “Atavista”).
