Lucas Lucco becomes the target of a businessman’s lawsuit, the columnist says

The country singer is accused of not having transferred the amounts established in the contract

Lucas Lucco is being sued by a businessman who claims he invested in the country singer’s career. The legal action was reportedly filed in May this year, but only became news on Friday (11/10), after columnist Fábia Oliveira shared some details of the document.

The case was reported by Cristiano de Sousa Batista, who filed a complaint against his compatriot and Lucco Produções. The businessman said he invested in his career through the company AGT Brasil, guaranteeing participation in the celebrity’s good profits.

However, Batista told the Court that Lucco did not meet the criteria to receive his share of the settlement. The entrepreneur claimed that for contractual reasons an average value of 12 representations of the country singer should be transferred, but of this sum he received only a part.

Batista legally asked Lucas Lucco to present the list of all presentations made between 2019 and 2023, the period in which the agreement would be active. Furthermore, he also asked for information on all contracts, box office, events, as well as the proceeds of the contract.

Defense by Lucas Lucco

In response, Lucas Lucco’s defense guaranteed that these were false accusations, indicating that Batista received all the sums expected for the year 2019. The defendants also argue that between May and November 2020 no event occurred due to the coronavirus pandemic. This would be the period in which earnings should be transferred.

Lucco also explained that he did not have the documents relating to the contracts of the time, held by another agent, nor could he present the box office data, since he earns based on fixed amounts (commissions) and not based on ticket sales . The singer also clarified that he had no obligation to make the data available between 2021 and 2023, as it was not required by the contract.

The space remains open for new developments.
