Legendary band The Cure will release their new track this Thursday (10th). A fragile thingwhich will be an integral part of the new album Songs of a Lost Worldthat will arrive on the market November 1st from Universal Music.
Songs of a Lost World is the fourteenth studio album by The curebeyond being the first of its kind in 16 years. The songs were performed for the first time on the tour Shows of a lost worldwho took the Cure 90 dates in 33 countries and it was seen by 1.3 million of enthusiastic fans, earning praise from critics.
“It was inspired by the difficulties we face when choosing between mutually exclusive needs and how we deal with the futile regret that can follow those choices, no matter how sure we are… It is often difficult to be the person you truly have need to be”, says the singer Roberto Smith.
Blacksmith created the concept for the cover of the new album by The cureAND Andy Vellalong-time partner of The cureoversaw the planning and execution. The cover image shows Bagatelle1975 sculpture created by Janez Pirnat.
The Cure announce new album launch show in London
The Cure will host an intimate show in London on October 30th Radio2 in concert at the BBC Radio Theater for the launch of their eagerly awaited new album Songs of a lost world.
According to NME, the show will be broadcast on Jo Whiley’s Radio 2 and BBC Sounds on October 31, along with an interview with singer Robert Smith. Additionally the band will play in a 6 Music Session: The Cure Live on the Huw Stephens show on October 31, in a broadcast that will also feature an interview with the singer.
“It’s not often we get to play such intimate shows, so we can’t wait to share more songs from the new album for the first time on 6 Music and Radio 2.”Smith said in a statement. NME said the Radio 2 Breakfast Show will feature exclusive songs from the Radio 2 show on 1 November, with both shows available to watch on BBC iPlayer on the evening of 31 October.
It is worth mentioning that the The cure released a second song from their new album earlier this week, when they released a 15-second instrumental preview of it Final song.
It’s worth noting that the pre-Halloween show will take place in a space with a capacity of 550 people.
