The images appeared on social media following the former One Direction singer’s death on Wednesday
The images of the hotel room where Liam Payne stayed, before he died on Wednesday afternoon (16/10), reveal a television with a broken screen, a lot of dirt and several drugs scattered around. The photos were leaked on social media, shocking fans of the former singer of the boyband One Direction.
The 31-year-old artist died instantly after falling 13 meters from the 3rd floor of the Casa Sur hotel, located in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Local authorities said he may have been “under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”
Police incident
Argentine newspaper La Nación reported that police were called to the hotel to investigate an incident with an aggressive man. According to the American website TMZ, witnesses reported that the singer was agitated and had shown erratic behavior in the hotel lobby shortly before the incident, even destroying a laptop. He reportedly had to be taken back to his room.
Alberto Crescenti, head of Argentina’s Emergency Medical Attention System (SAME), described how they found the singer. “At 5.04pm [horário local]we received a 911 alert for a person who was in the internal courtyard of the Casa Sur hotel. A few minutes later, a SAME team arrived and confirmed the death of this man, who we later learned was a member of a musical group. Following the fall he suffered injuries incompatible with life”, declared the SAME manager.
Payne was in Argentina to attend a show by his former bandmate Niall Horan, who he joined at the event, held on October 2.
