The opportunity came after the viral videos with the song “I’m Just a Kid”, by the Canadian band
Special invitation
Musician Junior Lima has secured a spot to play drums with the band Simple Plan at their upcoming show in Brazil. The unprecedented opportunity came after Sandy Leah’s brother posted a video demonstrating his love for the musical instrument in July.
Junior’s release was a challenge with the song “I’m Just a Kid,” one of the rock group’s major hits. On that occasion, he recreated a childhood photograph posing next to a drum set. At another point, he even appeared playing the song in an amateur style. The images went viral on the Internet and found their way into the hands of Canadian artists, who issued the official invitation via video.
You won’t miss it!
“Fala Junior! We saw your video ‘I’m Just a Kid’ and heard that you are a big fan of Simple Plan. We would love for you to perform with us next time we are in Brazil,” said singer Pierre Bouvier.
Other band members also praised the performance: “I think we found our Brazilian drummer! We can’t wait to play with you next time we go to Brazil!” Despite the news, Simple Plan does not yet have a show scheduled in the country.
