Iconic British duo Tears For Fears release their first official live album today, titled Songs for a nervous planet which contains four new studio tracks, including the new single, The girl I call home. The album is now available on digital platforms via Universal Music, via Concord musical group.
For all the 22 tracks, Songs for a nervous planet highlights the transcendental live performances of Tears for fearsas they scroll through the tour setlist Turning point and other albums that made the British duo famous.
Along with the live recordings, the album contains four new studio tracks: Say goodbye to mom and dad, Emily Said, astronaut and the recently released single The girl I call home. These new songs expand the band’s career-spanning lineup, tackling themes of love, isolation, mental health and escape.
Tears For Fears played a show in theaters for the first time
Tears for fearsone of the most important duets in the history of pop music, screened the concert film in theaters Tears For Fears Live (A Tipping Point Film)the first live recording of the English on the UCI screens in October.
The film is a recording of the world tour Tipping Point Tour, Part 2 and features classics such as Everyone wants to rule the world, shout, sow the seeds of love, a crazy world, upside downas well as the new songs on the album The turning point.
The production will debut in cinemas the same week as the release of the duo’s new album Songs for a nervous person Airplanethat takes place on the day October 25th. Tickets for the film are on sale now.
Curt Smithone of the members of Tears for fearscommented on the creation of the album and film: “We decided to film the live show last year. I don’t think many people know what a great live band we actually are!” the musician underlines.
“They see a duo and think they’re just two people with some keyboards and backing tapes, and that’s it. Over the years, we’ve improved a lot since our heyday in the ’80s,” complements.
Roland Orzabal notes: “We’ve never released an official live album, so you could say this is an album 40 years in the making.”
