Charity auction featuring Courtney Love goes to charity that cares for rescued animals in Sumatra
Known as singer, songwriter and leader of the American alternative rock band Hole, Courtney Love will auction handwritten lyrics of the song “Violet,” released in 1994 and featured on the studio album Live Through This.
It’s worth remembering how the song in question is the opening track of the band’s second album and was written three years earlier. Love donated the original pages, with the handwritten lyrics, to a fundraising auction for Ellis Parkwildlife sanctuary. The sale runs until December 15, 2024.
All money raised will go towards the charity, dedicated to caring for animals rescued in Sumatra and founded by Warren Ellismember of the band Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. See the bidding page here.
