The short video platform will recognize talent for the first time in the UK and Ireland in December
Short video platform TikTok will hold its acclaimed awards ceremony for the first time United Kingdom and inside Ireland. The event will bring together creators from various categories, ranging from food, sports it’s clear, music.
In this edition, which will be held in December, TikTok will include the category New artist of the year where six musicians compete for the prize. The company’s new initiative is due to its growth this year and the success of its built-in tool that allows users to add their favorite songs to their videos.
The six artists nominated for the award New artist of the year of the platform are: Jordan Adetunji, LeoStayTrill, Myles Smith, Nxdia, Artemas AND Rachel Chinouriri.

The new functionality complements the existing one Add to Music app.
Ole Obermannthe platform’s music manager reported that the new feature “has been responsible for hundreds of millions of saved tracks and billions of streams on our partners’ music streaming services.”
