In this work, the group returns to the samba circle format, Sunset style.

Sorriso Maroto launched the first part of the project this Thursday (14th). Smile, I Don’t Like Any Pagodas – Vol. 2which is now available on all digital platforms via Sony Music. After the success of volume 1launched in 2023, the group returns to the samba circle format, in a Sunsetonly this time he pays homage to his great idols.

In Smile I don’t like any pagodas – Vol. 2THE Cheeky smile celebrates its musical references with songs that were part of the band’s initial repertoire. The idea is to continue with the project and publish several volumes, to form a sort of “Superalloy pagodas”.

THE Part 1 will feature six tracks of re-recordings of the band’s early hits Exaltasambawith the extraordinary participation of Chrigor, the first singer of the group.

“This project wants to talk about what Sorriso did before recording his first original album. It talks about the phase in which we didn’t have a repertoire to do our shows. Between 1997 and 2003/2004, more or less, we performed the Exaltasamba Songs at concerts, Chrigor was the voice we heard in these songs that we included in this project”accounts Bruno Cardoso. “Singing with him means returning to our origins, recording these successes again means validating everything we have done. We want to pay homage to our heroes and return in the form of music the influence that has made us the Sorriso Maroto of today. This project is about This”reflects the singer.

The single chosen was the medley Mega Star/Telegram and they are also part of the launch 24 hours of love/It’s you, Ride of love/I cry, Postcard/The letter, 40 degrees of love/Tell me and pay to see/Dead end/Contained desire.

Also in November the group is already planning the release of the second part, with songs taken from Soweto and the participation of the singer Beautifuland, in December, they will make the full album and four new songs available.

The project Smile, I Don’t Like Any Pagodas – Vol. 1 he brought 22 participations of great artists of the pagodas and revisited the successes of Sorriso Maroto over the years. For the first time, the group launched a project in a more intimate format than the samba circle. The work accomplished 1 billion listeners in a year.
