Mike Shinoda’s relieved thanks after Linkin Park releases new album

The musician showed gratitude to everyone who participated in the journey that resulted in the band’s return and the album From Zero

Despite rumors in previous months, the public actually knew about the return of LinkinPark with new members in September this year. This does not mean, however, that the band’s journey to its reactivation began during this period.

In interviews, the vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Mike Shinoda has been saying that the reunion had been worked on internally, very slowly, since 2019. In other words: it was a long process before fans could finally check out the current incarnation of the group — with the lead singer Emily Armstrong and the drummer Colin Brittain — and listen From Zeroalbum released last Friday (15).

Aware of this, Shinoda published a text on his social networks with a certain tone of outburst after the album was released. The musician thanked everyone who participated in this recent journey.

Firstly, he said:

I spent the last hour flipping through photos from the last 7 years, remembering the journey I took to get here. So many photos seemed missing — things I experienced but didn’t capture. All good; No amount of stories or photo sharing would be enough anyway.”

Then came the thanks. Mike remembered not only his current groupmates, but also his former ones: the late vocalist Chester Bennington and the drummer Rob Bourdonwho chose not to participate in current activities.

Thank you to everyone who shared a coffee or meal with me, listened when I vented or talked about a new idea, and responded when I reached out. Thank you to the fans who believed in us when they had no reason to. Thank you to our teams and colleagues, old and new, who help turn our good intentions into great things. And most of all, thank you to my bandmates, past and present. I love you all. FROM ZERO is out now.”
