In an interview with Contigo!, Salgadinho talks behind-the-scenes details of the Casa do Salgado project and reflects on a new phase in his musical career
Known nationally as Snacks (54), the musician Paulo Alexandre Nogueira Salgado Martins reveals that he is experiencing a new era in his career. Ahead of the seventh edition of Casa do Salgado, a project born during the Covid-19 pandemic, he says that he will however have to face challenges if he is always prepared for the change in his career.
“I’ve always been one to immerse myself in work. When Casa do Salgado emerged during the pandemic, we had no intention of taking to the streets and it has exceeded my and my team’s expectations.“, says Salgadinho, in an interview with With you!. “I have come to the conclusion that this is the turning point for the second phase of my life as an artist. It’s exciting, I didn’t imagine it that much.”
The singer says he was initially going to do a similar restaurant project before the pandemic hit. However, when social isolation was decreed, Casa do Salgado was born. The event, now taken to the streets, brings together several artists to sing the successes of the artist’s career, mixed with lots of samba and pagodas.
“It’s phase two of Salgadinho“he says, which also speaks to the challenges of making changes.”It’s an entire operation, they run the entire event, from advertising, to the bar, to the guests… it took a lot of diligence. Apart from the event part, the way to raise funds is quite complex. As a businessman it is a challenge, as an artist it is an achievement.”
The artist claims to have already recorded five other editions and reveals that, in the fourth edition of the event, he had a setback: he lost all the audio of the recordings, but he changed things. “Everything I have gained throughout my life has prepared me for this moment.“, he concludes.
