Profile changed?

Popload Festival, one of Brazil’s main indie rock events, will return to Sao Paulo in 2025. The ninth edition is scheduled for May 31 and will be held at Parque Ibirapuera, marking a change of location compared to previous editions. But that’s not the only thing that’s different. Singer-songwriter Norah Jones was announced as the first confirmed attraction.

Promotional lot tickets for the event are now available for purchase starting this Tuesday (11/26) on the Tickets For Fun website.

Known for her jazz pop style, Norah Jones previously performed in Brazil at the BMW Jazz Festival in 2010 and was last here in December 2019. Her profile is completely different from previous festival attractions, which have been running since 2013. they received prominent names from the rock and indie scene such as Tame Impala, Iggy Pop, Wilco, Patti Smith, PJ Harvey, Phoenix, Metronomy and Blondie.

Creator’s statement

LĂșcio Ribeiro, creator of Popload, underlined the uniqueness of the event and its relevance in the musical panorama. “The Popload Festival is a different event, which places great emphasis on curation. I think the identification that the public has is really fantastic, not only because the line-up is designed considering emerging, established and often niche artists, but also for the whole climate that the event offers in terms of audience, brand and partnerships”, he stated.
