According to the Central Collection and Distribution Office, more than 3,300 authors received rights to national and international songs played at the festival
THE Ecad (Central Collection and Distribution Office) announced this Thursday (28) the distribution of more than R$ 13 million in copyrights to approximately 3,300 authors for the songs played on the Rock in Rio 2024.
In a statement, Ecad announced that it recorded 202 musical performances, which had a total of 3,051 songs played, more than 52% of which were songs from the national repertoire and more than 36% from the international repertoire, in addition to 11% of songs still pending identification.
The edition, which took place in September, had the Ecad proceeds distributed this November. In total there were more than 311 hours of recordings, including the test event and the musical Dreams, Mud and Rock and Roll.
According to the statement, the Mundo and Sunset stages produced more than 38 hours of recording. A total of 42 hours were recorded at Espaço Favela and New Dance Order, another 56 hours at Supernova and Global Village. The Highway Stage took more than 24 hours and the test event took 11 hours. The musical spectacle lasted three hours.
“We have Rock in Rio, which has been compliant with copyright for 40 years, as an example to be followed in Brazil”, said the Ecad superintendent, Isabel Amorim. “If all organizers of shows and festivals and those responsible for spaces that play music adopted this commitment to valuing the musical class, we wouldn’t have such high default rates in so many segments as we have in the country.”
Rock in Rio: the most played

According to Ecad, “Tá ok”, written by Kevin O Chrisand Dennis DJwas the song that played the most times at the festival, taking into account all stages and all days of the event. The top 3 was completed with “Vai no cavalinho”, by the composers Mr Sammy and Big Bigin second place and “Mas que nada”, by Jorge Ben Jorthird.
