The Future Nostalgia tour saw a huge increase in revenue compared to Dua Lipa’s concerts before the quarantine
After two years away from the stage, Dua Lipa started the tour Future Nostalgia to promote the winning album Grammy and had a big increase in revenue from shows compared to the period before the pandemic, according to data from Billboard Boxscore.
From February to April, lipa toured the United States and Canada, grossing US$40.1 million with 394,000 tickets sold. In 27 of the 28 cities where he performed, the performances had an audience of around 11 thousand people. Only in Milwaukee (USA) did the show take place with reduced capacity.
In the famous Madison Square Garden performance alone, the British singer made US$ 2.1 million while the two shows in California totaled US$ 3.2 million with more than 30 thousand tickets sold. These numbers are much higher than those of the tour lipa before the quarantine, when the shows averaged US$ 141 thousand with about four thousand tickets per performance.

Compared to the performances in 2017 and 2018, the tour Future Nostalgia saw a 346% increase in tickets sold, which now cost an average of $102, representing a 1,479% increase in gross per-show sales.
This increase in attendance from tour to tour is rare, but not impossible. artists like bad bunny and Billie Eilish stopped performing in clubs for theaters and stadiums in a short time, as well as other pop names like Halsey, Lord and Khalid.
Since 2017, lipa reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time with “New Rules,” collaborated with Calvin Harris and Silk City and won two awards Grammy, including best new artist. In 2019, she released “Don’t Start Now,” followed by the disk Future Nostalgia (2020), hitting the top five on the Hot 100 and Billboard 200, respectively.
