Guns N’ Roses guitarist almost managed to complete the act to the sound of Aerosmith’s classic, but it wasn’t the quintet’s work that accompanied him
For everything in life, there is a first time. It’s no different with rock stars: Slash He also had his inaugural intimate experiences and seems to remember them vividly.
As a musician, the sound component is an important detail for the guitarist. Guns N’ Roses. To the point where he remembers which album he listened to while having sex for the first time.
First, it is worth highlighting: Slash grew up surrounded by rock and roll. The sound of England, his homeland, was introduced by his father. His mother, an American, moved between some names of the genre as she worked in fashion. David Bowie, Ringo Starr, John Lennon and Janis Joplin were some of the names present in the young man’s first years of life Saul Hudsonyour real name.
THE Aerosmith It ended up becoming his first great passion in music. It’s not uncommon to see him quote the classic Rocks (1976) among his favorite albums.
In an interview with Classic Rock (via Far Out Magazine), the guitarist said that the American band’s fourth album almost served as a soundtrack for his “debut” alongside a girl. According to him, it didn’t happen.
I almost had my first sex with Rocks…I had been courting this girl for months. I finally went to her apartment while her mother was out, and she put it on. I played it again and again, until she said, ‘You better go!’.”
Then, the guitarist revealed the album he played for the first time during a relationship: Rumors (1977), from Fleetwood Mac. The musician described the album as “very popular among girls” and gave a tip for anyone at the same point in their lives:
Usually, it’s the girl’s music that you end up having sex with.”
Slash and Fleetwood Mac
Slash seems to like the work of Fleetwood Macbut his favorite period doesn’t seem to be the one that spawned Rumors. The musician drew on the group’s beginnings, when it was still blues-oriented and led by the guitarist Peter Greenwhen choosing a cover for his solo album, Orgy of the Damned (2024): “Oh Well”classic from 1969.
For the new version, the man in the hat had the help of the country star Chris Stapletonwhich had already opened shows for Guns N’ Roses shortly before. Even so, Slash told the Rolling Stone USA who had to be invasive to contact the singer when making an unexpected call.
The result was worth it. The guitarist said:
The singing cadence of Chris and that accent he has for this particular song, in my opinion, seemed perfect.”
In addition to Stapletonappear in Orgy of the Damned musicians like Demi Lovato, Gary Clark Jr., Chris Robinson, Billy Gibbons, Iggy Pop, Paul Rodgers, Brian Johnson, Beth Hartbetween others. It was his first completely solo work. Slash since 2010’s self-titled album, released before joining vocalist Myles Kennedy and the The Conspiratorshis backing band.
