The singer will take at least five months off after a 40-year career
Zeca Pagodinho, one of the biggest names in samba and pagode in Brazil, announced this Friday (13) a pause in his musical career. At 65 years old and with 40 years of experience, the singer has decided to take a period of at least five months to dedicate himself to his family.
The decision was announced by the artist’s press office, which highlighted Zeca’s desire to enjoy more moments with his children and grandchildren.
“The artist will dedicate himself to his family and, above all, to his six grandchildren. The seventh will arrive in April. He also intends to use this time to give shape to new artistic projects”informed the singer’s team.
Their last show before the break is scheduled for December 21, at the Farmasi Arena, in Rio de Janeiro. The event will be the last performance of the tour commemorating 40 years of career, celebrating a journey full of successes such as Let life take me AND The sleeping shrimp, the wave takes it.
Zeca Pagodinho’s decision reflects his desire to slow down after decades of dedication to music. The singer intends to use his free time to enjoy his family, especially his grandchildren, an aspect of life that the artist has always highlighted as a priority in interviews.
Furthermore, Zeca has already started thinking about new artistic projects for the future. While there’s no word on exactly what will happen, the pause appears to be a time for reflection and planning for new creative endeavors.
Zeca Pagodinho: relaxed invitation to Bruno Mars
Recently, Zeca Pagodinho showed his irreverence by inviting singer Bruno Mars to drink a beer in his bar, located in Xerém, in the Baixada Fluminense. The invitation arrived shortly after Bruno Mars’ performance in Rio de Janeiro.
“Speak loudly, Bruninho! After yesterday you are officially invited to come to our bar in Xerém. You can come calmly, there is a lot of beer here”, said Zeca in an amused tone.
The pagodeiro’s friendly gesture conquered social media, strengthening his image as a charismatic icon close to the public.
With the hiatus announced, Zeca’s fans eagerly await his return to the stage and the new projects that should emerge from this period of rest and inspiration.
