Metallica performs benefit show and remembers music ignored since 1998

The presentation was held at the fourth edition of the Helping Hands philanthropic event, which raises funds for the band’s NGO, All Within My Hands

THE Metallica held a special show last Friday (13). At the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, in the United States, the band promoted the fourth edition of the Helping Hands Concert & Auction benefit event, with musical performances not only by them, but also by Sammy Hagar (ex-Van Halen) and the sisters SistaStrings.

All proceeds from tickets and an auction held at the venue were donated to All Within My Hands Foundationan NGO maintained by the group itself — James Hetfield (voice/guitar), Kirk Hammett (guitar), Robert Trujillo (low) and Lars Ulrich (drums) — with people on your team. Its operation consists of directing donations to institutions that need help in the areas of education, fighting hunger and containing damage from natural disasters and wars.

As occurred in other editions of the party, Metallica opted for an unusual repertoire. This time, for example, they did a half acoustic/half electric set and brought back songs that hadn’t been played live for years.

The most notorious example is “Low Man’s Lyric”album track Reload (1997) out of the setlists since 1998. The same album offered another “unearthed” pearl: “The Unforgiven II”forgotten music from shows from 2015 onwards.

Check out the repertoire played by Metallica on the occasion below (via Setlist.fm), as well as videos (via Blabbermouth).
