Singer stated that the single “Disease” is the official kickoff, but defines “Die With a Smile” as an important part of the work scheduled for 2025

In the most recent episode of the program The Breakdownfrom the Rolling Stone, Lady Gaga shared more details about his new album, provisionally called LG7. The artist revealed that the song “Disease”released in October 2024, was the first official single from the new production.
However the Gaga considers that the true inauguration of this new phase occurred with “Die With a Smile”a collaboration with Bruno Mars.
“It’s a significant part of my album”, he declared to LA Times about the song, which is competing for the Song of the Year award at Grammy 2025.
“Die With a Smile” came about during a late-night recording session with Marswho was already exploring ideas for the project.
I sat down at the piano and said, ‘Okay, Bruno, show me the chords,'” Gaga recalled. “I don’t think he had any idea how much of a musician I am.”
LG7scheduled for release in February, highlights the musical ability of Gagawhich returns to pop songs with more traditional structures.
The album is filled with my love for music — many different genres, varied styles and diverse dreams. He moves between genres in an almost chaotic way. And it ends with love. That’s the answer to all the chaos in my life: finding peace through love.”
The artist described some of the themes covered in the album as a reflection on the bad decisions she made throughout her life, but highlighted that the work ends in a very happy place.
Finally, in addition to “Disease” and “Die With a Smile”, Gaga has already started planning the album’s signature visual moments — especially its headlining performance at the festival Coachellawhich takes place in the United States in 2025.
“Music festivals are part of the music community for me,” she commented. Gaga performed at Coachella in 2017 after the departure of Beyonce of the line-up, but the sudden nature of the replacement prevented their first headlining performance from being all it could have been. With just two weeks to prepare, she felt she didn’t have enough time to realize her full vision.
I really wanted to be there for the music fans and at the time there was all this excitement about being able to film parts of the movie A Star Is Born (2018) at Coachella. So I did it and loved it. But you know when you have a vision in mind about how you want to do something? It’s time to make it a reality… There is nothing that has affected me as profoundly in life as live music. For me, this is almost a religion.”
