The bassist of the band Jota Quest, Renato Tommaso, died this Sunday, 29th, at the age of 54. The news was confirmed on social media by his bandmate, singer Rogério Flausino. The musician had been part of the band for 18 years and the cause of death was not disclosed.

Rogério Flausino expressed regret for the loss of his friend. “Our deepest condolences for the sad and premature departure of our dear friend and walking companion Renato Tommaso. Great musician and gigantic professional who has been with us these last 18 years, whether on the road, in the studio or on stage, dedicating himself to the maximum and living with us side by side, always very special moments”, he wrote.
Jota Quest’s official profile also spoke about the loss of his friend. “Great friend, an exemplary family man, incredible bassist, super professional, partner in endless conversations about music, football, culture and everything that comes up. We have no words to express all the pain and sadness we feel right now. It’s hard from now on to perform a show and not remember you, my friend! Our most sincere condolences to Dani, the strong Renata and all the family and friends. Go in peace friend!”
On Renato’s official profile it was announced that the wake and burial will take place this Monday, the 30th, in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. Renato leaves behind his wife and a daughter.
