Writing with the theme “Challenges for valuing African heritage in Brazil” resulted in several mentions of Black Pantera
Notorious for its anti-racist themed lyrics, the Black Panther had already surprised the public by revealing that several fans had mentioned his songs in the writing of the latest edition of National High School Examination (Enem), held last November. Now, the band has shared reports of people who got good grades when mentioning their work in the essay-argument text, whose theme was “Challenges for valuing African heritage in Brazil”.

In a post on Instagram, the Minas Gerais crossover thrash trio formed by Charles Gama (voice and guitar), Chaene da Gama (voice and bass) and Rodrigo Augusto (drums) released a series of messages from fans in an image. There are statements like:
“I quoted [a música] ‘Perpétuo’ in the Enem essay and I got 940, you are such an inspiration!”
“Say guys, I used [a música] ‘Legacy’ in the Enem essay and I got 960… we are all Zumbi’s children. Thank you very much for the music and all your work, it makes a difference!”
“I got a 940 in the Enem essay using you as my repertoire! It was my highest grade in an essay. Thank you for everything.”
“I quoted [a música] ‘Candeia’ and it was my best grade of all the essays I did! If I get a place at the college I want, my skin will receive the single symbol! Thank you very much!”
The band expressed happiness at having collaborated with the students. In the caption of the publication, they state:
“About BLACK REPRESENTATION, ANCESTRALITY, PRIDE and a lot of RUN. To the CANDIDATES who used our art as a reference, ETERNAL GRATITUDE. To the TEACHERS who always apply our songs, THANK YOU SO MUCH.”

In November, when revealing the number of internet users who said they had cited him, the group had said on Instagram (via Igor Miranda website):
“When your art is light for many people. We don’t have dimensions sometimes, but today was quite a day. Thank you to the candidates, so many young people who related our songs to this topic, this very important issue. Hope for better and more equal days. Anti-racist education.”
