Ivete Sangalo anticipates the carnival with the new album

The project features reinterpretations of unprecedented successes and partnerships that promise to spark celebrations in Bahia

The new EP celebrates summer and carnival

Ivete Sangalo released the EP “O Verão Bateu em Minha Porta” this weekend, marking the official start of his carnival season. The album brings together five songs that capture the essence of the Bahian summer, including the single “Energia de Gostosa” and a new version of the collaboration with Anitta, “Lugar Perfeito”.

The reinterpretation of “Lugar Perfeito” received a redesigned arrangement by Ivete’s band, under the direction of maestro and producer Radamés Venâncio. With the amazing percussion of Elbermário, Márcio Brasil and Sequela and the vibrant guitars of Léo Brasileiro, the piece gave even more strength to the electric trios.

Special collaborations and rhythmic diversity

Among the songs on the EP, “Deixa Merecer” stands out, a collaboration with Margareth Menezes, current Minister of Culture, which adds a pulsating samba-reggae to the repertoire. The title song, “O Verão Bateu Em Minha Porta”, reflects the energy of the season, while “Tum Tum Tum Tugurungudum” appears as an ideal carnival gallop through the streets of Salvador.

“Margareth, queen and owner of the voice, comes to augment the song of good news and noble sensations,” commented Ivete about the collaboration. “The gallops are an invitation to release all the energy accumulated from other seasons. Samba-reggae literally brings the strength and rhythmic power of our music. The chorus brings us to the pure and precise contact of a groove that leaves no one standing still : tum tum tum tugurungudum! Bahia is the main door, this land of joy where summer wants to enter first”, explained the singer.

Carnival and connection with summer

Recorded at Farol da Barra, Salvador, in December last year, the EP reflects the spirit of carnival and summer. Ivete underlined that the project was born from a connection with the liveliest season of the year. “The sun, the determining star and owner of the substance joy, guided us in the compositions,” he said.

The singer also celebrated the moment of reunion with the energy of the audience: “Warmth, love and rhythm, that’s what movement does.”

Clips on YouTube

Two videos of the live recording at Farol da Barra, featuring the songs “Energia de Gostosa” and “O Verão Bateu Em Minha Porta”, were released on YouTube over the weekend. In the recordings, the singer appears with a vibrant tropical look, which reflects the essence of the Bahian summer.

Expectations for the celebrations

The EP’s debut positions the project as an indispensable soundtrack for the 2025 carnival, which will once again see Ivete leading an electric trio, drawing crowds to the streets of Bahia’s capital.
