This Saturday, January 25th, National Bossa Nova Day is celebrated. The date was chosen in honor of Tom Jobimborn January 25, 1927.

Celebrating the musical genre as well as the artist, the Rio Bossa Nossa is back and promises to rock the sands of Ipanema on the 24th, 25th and 26th of January, marking Rio’s summer with lots of music, sport, sustainability, accessibility and social action.

The event brings all the lightness and poetry that marked the musical movement born more than 70 years ago. Inspired by the sun, sky and sea of ​​the Girl from Ipanema, the Rio Bossa Nossa pays tribute to the style that revolutionized Brazilian music, mixing simplicity and sophistication.

Presented by Helô Pinheiro and artistically curated by Pretinho da Serrinha — which will also carry out a social action with Percussion Workshops for children from various communities — the party brings together big names in music and various outdoor activities, all in the iconic setting of the Marvelous City.

Among the night shows are performances by Daniel Jobim and Your Jorge with special participation from Maria Luiza Jobim, Roberto Menescal, DJ Marcelinho da Lua, In major key, Hamilton from Holland and Petrobras Symphony Orchestrain addition to Mario Adnet with the concert “Symphonic Tom and Villa”.
