After The Beatles: Get Back, Peter Jackson plans another project with the band
Peter Jacksondirector of Lord of the Ringsis working on a “very different” project on the Beatles with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. The filmmaker recently helmed the documentary The Beatles: Get Backreleased in November 2021, which also featured the participation of the band’s exclusive musicians and records.
“I’m talking to the Beatles about another project, something very, very different from Get Back,” he said in an interview with deadline. “We’re seeing what the possibilities are, but it’s another project with them. It’s not exactly a documentary… And that’s all I can say… We’re never in a position where we can do anything, but we’re filtering some things out.”
Despite not sharing many details, Jackson revealed that the project will require the use of technologies: “It’s so technically complicated that I’m trying to work out exactly how I’m going to do it. It’s live-action, but it needs technology that doesn’t exist right now, so we’re in the midst of developing that technology to allow that to happen.”
“I’m trying to anticipate what I can do before I even exist. They’re not fantasy epics, but they’re quite interesting,” concluded the director.
