Gustavo Scarpa It has a different musical taste than most of its ball colleagues. The soccer player, today in Atletico-MG and with stints on clubs like Fluminense, Palm trees and Nottingham Forestis a fan of rock – a little disseminated genre among the athletes of the sport.

Among the bands that go through their playlist, are Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Linkin Park, Audioslave, Metallic, Guns n ‘Roses, Alter Bridge and system of a Down. The latter, in particular, yielded a curious publication by the midfielder, who is also noted for being a voracious reader to the point of publishing reviews of the books he confers.

In post on Instagram Stories (via Tmdqa), Scarpa revealed to be starting to read down with the system, autobiography of SERJ TANKIAN. The work narrates the vocalist’s entire trajectory with System of a Down, as well as his previous trajectory and his parallel projects.

Defining the book as “O Dá Topo”, the athlete born in Campinas (SP) stated:

“It has already started cool. Soad is top, understanding the story behind the lyrics then, Seloco Kkkkkk ”

SERJ TANKIAN BOOK AND SYSTEM OF A Down shows in Brazil

With full title Down with the system: a memories book (or something)the book was released in Brazil in 2024 by Buzz Editora. It is for sale on the company’s website for R $ 89.90 and for lowest value in Amazon. A text made available as a description of the 352 pages work informs:

“This biography is much more than the story of an underground music fable. It is the trajectory of an immigrant and activist, a spiritual journey from darkness to light. Born of Armenian parents in Beirut and growing during a civil war, Serj moved to Los Angeles at the age of seven. There, immersed in the Armenian community, he learned about the genocide of his ancestors and helped his parents adapt to the ‘American dream’. He exchanged a promising future in business and right to follow the music, experiencing tours of five continents and reaching the top of Billboard. System of a Down will tour South America this year – the first visit to the continent in a decade. There will be eight performances, four of them in Brazil and the others in Colombia, Peru, Chile and Argentina.

Months later, in August and September, the Armenian American quartet will still perform six shows in North America. New Jersey, Chicago and Toronto receive the group, always with a special guest: Korn, Avenged Sevenfold and Deftonrespectively.
