Choice may surprise fans who expected to mention some work by White Stripes
One of the great 21st century rockstars, Jack White gained global fame with the White Stripes. However, it was a parallel project that changed his life as an artist – at least in his words.
In an interview with Volturethe singer and multi-instrumentalist was invited to quote what work marked his “creative rebirth.” In the answer, he highlighted the debut album of the The Raconteurs, Broken Boy Soldiers (2006).

It was the first time I worked with another real composer. We entered, bought and recorded together in this new band. ”
The project started as a partnership between him and Brendan Benson. At the time, the White Stripes still existed and experienced great popularity.
Soon the initiative became a band with the addition of Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keelerformer members of The Greenhornes. The first singles, “Steady As She Goes” and “Store Bought Bones”were released in April 2006.

It was not a proper professional maneuver to start a new band while already with another group that created a connection with people, the White Stripes.
