Singer held a speech during the prizes after obtaining the prize for the best performance from the duo or from the pop group of “Die with a smile”.
Speech for an applause of the foot received
Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars beat Grammy for the best performance of Duo or Pop Group this Sunday (2/2) with the song “Die with a smile”. On the stage of Crypto.com Arena, Gaga has taken the time to position himself on the rights of the trans community and received an ovation from the public.
“It is an honor to sing to all of you. I want to say tonight that trans people are not invisible. Trans deserves love,” he said. Next to Bruno Mars, the singer strengthened his message: “The queer community deserves to be high. Music is love”.
Declarations occur after the executive order of Trump
Gaga’s positioning takes place among the new measures of Donald Trump’s government against the trans population. Since it came into office in January, the president has signed an executive order to revoke the protections for trans and LGBTQ+people.
The document defines the male and female sexes based on biological characteristics and agencies as the State Department and the Department of Internal Security to ensure that the government documents, including passports, reflect only the biological sex of the owner.
The new restrictions should be signed on Monday
Gaga, who also presented a version of “California Dreamin” together with Bruno Mars during the prizes, is known for his activism in defense of the LGBTQ+community. The singer founded Born This Way Foundation, dedicated to supporting Young LGBTQ+.
