Even though he had a special presentation at the beginning of the month, Aerosmith singer is not physically able to endure a complete excursion
Fans of Aerosmith should not be excited by Steven Tyler Having a special show earlier this month at the Hollywood Palladium of Los Angeles, United States. The singer and his band follow retirees from the activities on tour.
Matt SorumdrummerGuns n ‘Roses and Velvet Revolverreinforced the information. In an interview with Wbab (via Igor Miranda website), he defined Tyler’s performance at his NGO event, Janie’s Fundas something punctual. The 77 -year -old even can make one or another presentation, but the excursion days came to an end.
“Some fans said, ‘Ah, so he’s managing to sing.’ Let me explain what’s going on with Steven Tyler, because he’s a great friend. He sang that day and it was a great time for him, because he had been hurt Severe. Now, he’ll be touring again?
Still according to Sorum, the perfectionism of the friend and colleague by profession would be an impediment. Steven, one of the greatest vocalists in rock history, would not accept to resort to pre-recorded or playback tracks to deceive the audience.
“If you are not a singer, you would not understand what he goes by, but he is 77 years old and is a perfectionist. If he doesn’t sing the right way, he is bothered. And he will not use playback, like 80% of the artists out there who are taking their money, nor change the tone of the songs. He says, ‘I’m an artist, I’m a singer, this is my band and I do it for 50 years – and if I can’t do perfect, then I don’t. ”

The former Guns member had to convince Aerosmith’s frontman to perform the event. Thus, they arrived at the format: just a few songs, no complete show. The model can be repeated in the future, by the way.
At the time, Steven played the following songs:
- “More Than Words” (Extreme) – With Nuno Bettencourt and Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac);
- “Toys in the Attic” – with Nuno Bettencourt;
- “Dream on” – With Lainey Wilson, Nuno Bettencourt and others;
- “Sweet Emotion” – With Tom Hamilton and Chris Robinson (Black Crowes);
- “Walk This Way” – With Jessie J.

Aerosmith’s retirement
Steven Tyler suffered in 2023 a laryngeal fracture that compromised his vocal cords. The fact that he was unable to recover led to Aerosmith’s retirement, announced almost a year after the accident in the stage at the beginning of the group’s farewell tour.
In part of the statement that announces the definitive end, the musicians say:
“We always wanted to impress you by introducing ourselves. As you know, Steven’s voice is an instrument like no other. He spent months working tirelessly to take his voice to where he was before his injury. We saw him fighting, despite having the best medical team by his side. Unfortunately, it is clear that a complete recovery of your vocal injury is not possible. We made a painful and difficult but necessary decision – like a brothers’ band – to retire from the tour stage. ”
