Artist explained why album in question does not embarrass her and shared a rare update about her next musical work
Rihanna He was a very productive artist between the second half of the 2000s and the first part of the years 2010. To this day, the artist has released eight studio albums, seven of them in the period quoted. It achieved huge success, selling 250 million copies globally.
Interestingly, she’s not a big fan of her own catalog. In fact, only one record seems to please it to the point of being heard without embarrassment: Anti (2016), the most recent and precisely what took the most time to be recorded.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar (via NME), the artist born in Barbados shared the following reflections on the work she presented to the world songs as “Work” and “Needed Me”:
“I hear Anti From top to bottom without feeling ashamed. I used to always be ashamed. In fact, I don’t like to listen to my music, but Anti I can hear. ”
Amazingly, Rihanna doesn’t even feel Anti Be an album of her. Such a distance seems to have made the experience of listening to the less embarrassing material.
“It’s like me singing, if I’m just listening. This is the only album I can have an extracorporeal experience where it is not like … You know when you hear your voice in a voice message and is like: ‘ugh’. ”

And the new album, Rihanna?
With or without shame of his works, Rihanna continues without releasing a new album after Anti. The creative gap in this format lasts almost a decade – and, for now, the singer gives only discrete signs that she works in unpublished music.
During the same interview, she shared another brief update. According to the artist, her expected ninth studio album “It will be nothing that you are expecting” And the promise of adopting a reggae sound, made between 2018 and 2019, will not be fulfilled.
“There is no music genre now. That’s why I waited (to record). Every time I was like, ‘No, it’s not me; It’s not right; It is not matching my growth; It is not matching my evolution; I can’t do that; I can’t stay with it; I can’t sing this for a year on tour. ”
Since the launch of AntiRiri provided only with his own single and participated in three other songs. Credited to her, there “Lift Me Up”2022 track used in the soundtrack of the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Before, she collaborated with Nerd in “Lemon”, Kendrick Lamar in “Loyalty” and PartynextDoor in “Believe it”.
