On Monday 3, the musician Tony Bellotto announced that he was diagnosed with pancreas cancer and that he will temporarily move away from the stage to perform a surgical procedure. The Titans confirmed that the guitarist Alexandre de Orio It will be the substitute for the band’s next shows.
Who is Alexandre de Orio?
With a career that mixes Heavy Metal, Jazz and academic research, Alexandre De Orio has a consolidated story in music. It was the guitarist of the Band Claustrophobia, one of the main names of Thrash and National Death Metal, and participated in the tour in Europe and Latin America.
In addition to the stage, the musician also works in the academic environment. Graduated from the Faculty of Art Alcântara Machado (FAAM), with a post -Laurea degree in musical structure and language, he teaches the Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music (Sam) in India, where he teaches lessons on the fusion of the metal with Brazilian rhythms. The theme also surrendered the book Brazilian metal: Brazilian rhythms applied to guitar metal – volume 1 – samba metal.
International experience and parallel projects
Alexandre De Orio has already collaborated with known names of National Rock, such as Sérgio Britto (Titani), Digão (Raimundos) and Egypcio (ex Tihuana, current Cali). He is also a member of Kroma Electric Guitar Quartet, an experimental electric guitar project and musical director of the School of Rock Gualulhos.
The guitarist also spoke of Bellotto’s replacement. On his social networks, he wished the strength of the musician and said he will do his best during the shows with the Titans.
“Tony, while we talk about these days, here are my positive energies, strength. Soon, you will come back. In the meantime, I will give the best. Happy recovery,” he wrote.
The band will continue with the presentation agenda while Bellotto recovers. According to the official declaration, the guitarist will resume his activities as soon as possible.
