Magazine defined a group in question as “the most influential, financially successful and universally praised of Heavy Metal at all times”
The magazine website Forbes – Publication specializing in economics, but with art editorial and entertainment – released a list of the 30 best rock bands according to his team. The article is curated by the journalist Quentin Thane Singer and highlights groups of different eras, disregarding solo artists.
Some criteria were considered by the vehicle. First: the focus resided in “Main subgenres of rock, be it classic rock, blues-rock, hard-rock, head metal, alternative rock or punk”. In addition, it was sought to contemplate “Rock groups whose musical work has remained timeless over the years and is still predominantly relevant within the modern music industry”.
Because it is a wider list within rock, Heavy Metal did not have so many representatives. Still, classic segment names emerged in the survey.
THE Black Sabbathgroup considered pioneer of the style, appeared in 12th position. Of the same genre, there is only one name above them: the Metallicin 9th place. See what the magazine published about the two bands:
Black Sabbath (12th place):
Forbes: “Heavy Metal godparents, Black Sabbath has become the rock upside down in 1969 and has since been quoted as the founders of the most notorious subgenre of rock. Graduated in the industrial city of Birmingham, England, the quartet composed of Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward It would produce a series of most defining metal success records and songs between 1969 and the early 1980s.
With many compliments and a status revered in the metal community, the sound and master composition of Black Sabbath are undoubtedly timeless. The songs ‘WAR PIGS’, ‘Paranoid’ and ‘Nib’ They are routinely discovered by new generations of rock musicians and connoisseurs, instilling Black Sabbath as a primary and popular channel for the heavy metal subgenre. To this day, there are few metal bands that come close to exerting a stature and legacy similar to those of Black Sabbath, further proving the timelessness and importance of the band in the great genre of rock. ”

Metallica (9th place):
Forbes: “Undoubtedly, Metallica is the most influential, financially successful and universally praised metal band of all time. Setting a sequence of impeccable discs throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, it is no wonder that Metallica became the gigantic figures that are today in rock and heavy metal spaces.
After starting in 1981, James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Rob Trujillotogether with the former Member Cliff Burton, Dave Mustaine and Jason Newstedthey contributed significantly to the shape and sound of modern rock and metal. With albums Ride the lightning (1984), MASTER OF PUPPETS (1986) and … and justice for all (1988), Metallica built a widely considered unparalleled legacy in heavy metal to this day. In addition, the trajectory and global popularity that Metallica saw after the release of its 1991 homonymous album, also known as The Black Albumhave not yet been seen by any hard rock or heavy metal band to this day. Songs such as ‘ENTER SANDMAN’, ‘One’ and ‘MASTER OF PUPPETS’ They were consolidated as a masterful metal composition class and are seen routinely as a gateway to aggressive music for many listeners. ”

By way of curiosity, the Iron Maidenanother highlight of the metal, was in 17th position, behind the two bands.
