“Before I started, I did two phone calls. I spoke to Jay And I talked to Kendrick. I was like: ‘Hey, I want to go back to the music. What is the advice? ‘”He recalled. So Will Smith revealed what was the answer of Jay-z.
Do not pretend your story. He said, ‘You have to say what is true to you.’ He said, ‘You’ll be looking at younger rappers and want this to be true to you, but you don’t live that way.’ He said, ‘Be faithful to your story. Tell your story. ‘
Already Kendrick Lamar encouraged Smith not being insecure with what would talk about BASED ON A TRUE STORY: “Say that me *** you’ve always been afraid to say. Basically the same. It was like, ‘Be honest.’ It was scary. That’s the thing with the genre. Do the album you want to do. Don’t try to do the album you think people will like you. Do the one that is authentic.”
