“Smash It Like Belushi” anticipates Deluxe edition of the album Savior; band performs at the Paulistano Festival The Town in September
THE Green Day will relaunch your 14th studio album, Savior (2024), nominated for Grammy, in a deluxe edition. The work hits the platforms on May 23 by Reprise Records, with national distribution of Warner Music Brasil. To start the new phase, the trio offers the unprecedented “Smash It Like Belushi”. The new edition of Savior brings seven additional songs, including acoustic versions of “Suzie Chapstick” and “Father to a Son”. The album marked the reunion of Green Day with ROB CAVALLOGrammy winning producer responsible for classics such as Dookie (1994) and American idiot (2004).
The launch premiered in 4th place in the American charts, which guaranteed to the group its 9th entrance to the top 5 of the ranking. In addition, it yielded three nominations to the Grammy 2025, as the best rock album, best rock performance for “The American Dream is Killing Me” and best rock song by “Dilemma”.
Savior led the band to get three singles at the top of the alternative charts – the best performance in Green Day since “American Idiot” – And two at the top of the rock charts. “Dilemma” was in 3rd place among the most played on the alternative radios of the year, while the latest single, “One Eyed Bastard”climbs rapidly on the charts in search of room #1 of the album.
In 2024, the trio started the SAIVORS TOURwhich follows this year. For the first time in their careers, the Americans performed complete album shows Dookie and American idiotin celebration at 30 and 20 years of the albums, respectively – besides playing recent songs of the new work.
The band will also be Coachella’s main attraction on two weekends: Saturday, April 12, and Saturday, April 19. The group will undergo major festivals around the world, such as Welcome To Rockville, Bottlerock Napa Valley, Oceans Calling Festival, Download Festival (United Kingdom), Ejekt Festival (Greece) and The Town (Brazil), where it plays on September 7 at the Interlagos racetrack in Sao Paulo.
