Speaking with Gossipify, the actress shared what the transition from one genre to another was like:
It was amazing. I love the fact that I have been able to participate in many different shows, in many different genres. It’s nice not to be pigeonholed as something. It was really cool to see all the different walks of life, I guess, in all these different genres. Each project is a new experience and you learn from each, especially when each project is of a different genre. I feel it’s still interesting.
Bella Ramsey (now 18) is still known for her role as Lyanna, but, like her co-stars, game of Thrones students who also chose very different follow-up projects, were not forced to play one type of character in one type of genre. More recently, she appears as Lady Jane Gray in Starz’s becomes Elizabeth, charged with depicting a dramatized version of a real historical figure. Coming soon on HBO, viewers will see her as Ellie The last of uswho joins her with a partner game of Thrones alum of Pedro Pascal .
Even for those who haven’t played the video game in which The last of us it is based on history and does not know it, the first look at the program is a test that Ellie is not a carbon copy of Lyanna Mormont. The actress avoided being cast, but was that something she worried about after becoming an icon on the biggest show in television history? Ramsey explained:
A little bit, but I guess I’m so young that I didn’t really have this idea of being defined as something. To be honest, I was still so grateful to be in the film industry. He didn’t know what he was doing. [laughs] I was grateful to be there. Typing wasn’t really something he desperately wanted to avoid. That’s exactly what happened. I was very lucky that every project I was able to participate in was so different, without having to choose it. It just happened, which was really cool.
She may not have been aware of the potential typing problem when playing Lyanna Mormont when she was “so young”, but the actress considers herself “lucky” now that she has been able to participate in projects that have allowed her to explore different types of characters. . . Plus, anyone who has seen her enter show business as Lyanna may not have guessed that she really didn’t know what she was doing!
