To announce the new album, the sisters revisit classic celebrity moments in paparazzi photos with style and irony
Single summer is coming-and there is a better way to welcome the season than with new music from Haim? In fact, the sisters found an even more iconic way: singles covers inspired by some of Paparazzi’s most famous clicks of the 2000s.
It all started with a reference to that historical image of pop culture: Nicole Kidmanin 2001, walking through any Hollywood street, illuminated by the California sun and with an expression of pure relief in the face. Legend has it that the photo was taken shortly after she signed the divorce papers with Tom Cruise – Closing that chapter once and for all.
In the case of Haimthe click was recreated by TERRENCE O’CONNOR for the single “Relationships”. Danielle, This and Alana They appear walking smiling, apparently through the same Californian sidewalk, conveying that same feeling of liberation. A perfect visual representation for the track vibe – how they “can’t stand more relationships” and want to get rid of the expectations that come with them. THE Nicole Then he said the image was actually a filming set (without quoting which), but the legend version has become bigger than any fact – and we will choose to believe it, because few things symbolize freedom than to a toxic relationship and walking down the street with a smile on his face.

And they followed with the references. For the second single, “Everybody’s Trying to Figure Me Out”to the Haim recreated another iconic click – this time with Kate Moss. In November 2000, the supermodel was caught leaning against a black SUV, with his eyes closed, enjoying the sun, hair in the wind and a simple striped blouse. The car door is open and the leg of a passenger appears in the background – it is as if Kate I simply stopped the car to enjoy a moment of it. Totally understandable.
This intimate and spontaneous breath of the photo spoke directly with the sisters Haim. In recreation, Danielle incorporate Mosswhile This partially appears and apparently the knee of Alana It appears in the back seat. Node Instagram, Danielle He wrote: “Writing this song helped me go through difficult times. Reflecting, I realized that I let a lot of people try to tell me how I should live. Trying to please everyone, I ended up losing myself.”

The sequence continued with the third single, “Down to Be Wrong”and another reinterpretation of a moment of the 2000s. Now, with a much more mocking touch: the cover recreates the 2004 catch in which Jared Leto appears checking the cell phone in the middle of a knee with Scarlett Johansson. This time, Danielle assumes the role of Scarlett – And it is she who is totally “off”, staring at the cell phone in the middle of the hug. A truly iconic moment.

Although they have not yet officially announced the fourth album, fans already speculate what the next click recreated by the trio will be. It will be the legendary photo of Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan in the car? Or maybe that moment when Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz Did they walk around New York with a bottle of champagne in hand? (Yes, we know it’s not there). Whatever, the spirit is clear: with the light and gold freshness of a free summer.
