Original Kiss Music, Peter Criss has announced 1st album solo since 2007

“I want Kiss Army and all my rock fans know that my new album of ‘Rock’ will be released this year,” says Criss. “I had a lot of fun doing this album.”

Peter Criss will leave a long period of inactivity this year with the release of its first album since One For All2007.

“I want Kiss Army and all my rock fans to know that my new album of ‘Rock’ will be released this spring”said Criss to Rolling Stone. “I have really amazing musicians in this project: Michael McLaughlin, John 5 on the solo and base guitar, Billy Sheehan, Piggy D [Matt Montgomery] in the bass, and Paul Shaffer in organ B3 and piano. I’m my own vocals, drums and percussion. I also count on great support vocalists, such as Dennis and Sharron Collins and Cathryn Manningfrom the band Cat 5. ”

Criss co -produced the album alongside Barry Pointerwho has worked with Ozzy OsbourneJohn 5, Mötley Crüe, Steve Stevens, PEARL ADAY and DOLLY PARTON. He states:

“I had a lot of fun doing this album, and working with everyone was an amazing experience – they were just fantastic. I’ll make a deeper interview near the release date in the spring.”

Criss is the original drummer of Kisscoescribed and sang the world’s 1976 success “Beth”. He left the band in 1980 after years of tension with Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley.

The drummer released a series of solo albums of little repercussion in the 1980s and early 1990s, before returning to Kiss for the 1996 meeting tour. However, old problems with his bandmates ended up resurfaced – including the use of album studio drummers – and he left the group again in 2004.

Criss last appeared on stage with the group when they were induced to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014, although they did not perform. That night he said:

“I never thought this could happen in my life. I would like to thank the band: Mr. Stanley, Mr. Simmons and the only and unmistakable Spaceman, Ace Frehley… inside and out of makeup, I will always be Catman. ”

Three years later, Criss gave a presentation that was announced as his last concert at Cutting Room in New York. The setlist mixed solo songs with Kiss classics, as “Strutter”, “Hard Luck Woman”, “Rock and Roll All Nite” it is clear, “Beth”. The night ended with a version of the classic Gene krupa, “Sing, Sing, Sing”.

There was a wide speculation that Criss and Frehley would join Kiss when the band’s farewell tour ending at Madison Square Garden in New York on December 2, 2023, but the reunion did not materialize. “I’m still sad for Ace and Peter, who can not enjoy the fruits of his work to this day”said Simmons earlier this month in the podcast Tetragrammaton of Rick Rubin. “They were as important as Paul and I in the band formation and in the early years – there is no doubt about it. It was a four -wheel drive vehicle.”
