MusicSami Chohfi faces his own demons in the clip of his new single, “Enemy”

The American-Brazilian singer and songwriter Sami Chohfi Launched the music video “Enemy”now available on your official YouTube channel. The work was directed by Jon Meyer and filmed at Fort Worden Historical State Park.

Regarding the unpublished song, which brings influences of grunge and alternative rock of the 1990s overall, the artist explained:

“Enemy ‘ It is a cry of war against the voice in our head that says we are not good enough. It is about that internal war, about fear, doubt, the shame that infiltrates in times of silence. But it is also about resistance. This song is for those who have already felt lost in the mental maze itself, but still found the strength to fight back. ”

The clip was attended by LoganSami’s nephew, in the main role, and Piperstudent of the artist, debuting as an actress. The singer’s sister, Tiffany Chohfialso appears playing in the scenes of the band.

About the music video, Chohfi commented on how they used the theme of the letter and turned it into clear elements:

“The idea was to make this invisible struggle visible. We created a universe where dark figures, reflexes of the characters themselves, emerge from the mirrors, and persecute them, representing the negative thoughts that accompany us as shadows. The story shows the moment of rupture, when the characters stop fleeing and face their own monsters. That, for me, was essential, to show that there is strength, there is strength inside the chaos.”

The musician still completes and talks about the good memories he created during the recordings:

“It was intense and exciting, but at the same time fun. Being surrounded by people so close to such a personal project brought even more true to everything. We laughed a lot between one socket and another, and this beautifully contrasted with the density of the theme. It was a very human creation process.”

The release of the clip takes place amid a busy phase of Sami’s career, which has just returned from his first tour of Costa Rica, where he performed in three cities. Following, the artist returns to Brazil for two special shows: one at Benjamin Rock Bar in Piracicaba (May 10), and one at Brazilian Bacon Day in Uberlândia (May 17), an event that brings together fans and big names in national rock, such as Iran!tribute to Charlie Brown Jr. and Bikini.

In addition, Sami is finalizing a studio album, described as her boldest work so far. The first single of the next phase is scheduled for July.

About the news, the singer explains:

“It’s a record that makes no concessions: sharp riffs, letters that say many people shut up. An urgent scream in times of emotional anesthesia.”
