Smiling, dressed in black leather and playing with his “retirement”, Roth and his current band opened the 75 -minute set with “Panama” and followed with classics like “Runnin ‘with the Devil”, “Jamie’s Cryin” and “And the Cradle Will Rock…”besides more-side bands as “Atomic Punk” and “Drop Dead Legs”. The presentation ended with “Hot For Teacher”, “Ain’t Talkin ” Bout Love” it is clear, “Jump”.
David Lee Roth’s band featured the guitarist Al roadwhich reproduced many of Eddie Van Halen’s riffs, as well as four vocal backing that competently reinforced the harmonies of songs as “Jump” and “Dance the Night Away”. Between one song and another, Roth remembered the early days of Van Halen – and the origin of certain passages at the shows of the time – and, in the typical style of Dave, even talked about the character Lieutenant Uhura of the original series of Star Trek.
The M3 Rock Festival festival lasted three nights and also featured Ace Frehley, Sebastian Bach, Great White, Warrant, Vixen, Winger and Lita ford.
The relationship between David Lee Roth and Van Halen’s remnants have never been exactly friendly, and even after Eddie’s death, feelings still appear to be at the flower of the skin. In an interview with Rolling StoneAlex van Halen revealed that he suggested “Not a reverence, but a recognition of Ed” During conversations about a possible Roth tour. However, according to him, the singer “Pirou” and found the idea “offensive”.
